The History before the Storm
My name is Steve Guziec and I want to buy Battletech!
I grew up playing the miniatures game and reading the novels. After seeing that in words, it does not do justice to the part that Battletech played in my life. I was not a crazy person that was obsessed with the fictional universe . However I will say this it was my escape from the craziness of my childhood. I would spend days in in the basement having battles that would involve battalions fighting battalions. FYI there are 4 Mechs to a lance, there are 3 lances to a company, 3 companies make up a battalion that's 36 mechs plus a command lance, support lance of tanks, 2 tanks equaled 1 mech in a lance... All said and done it was about 40 mechs 8 tanks on avg per side! Now this is not a computer based game, this is pencil (photo copies are expensive) and paper game. I would have these massive battles on my father's pool table for days! It was great! Now I did have a social life and played sports but this,Battletech, was my secret world were I was the Leader of the Killer Wolves a small Mercenary unit battling my way to glory! I learned so many skills in those battles and game play. I would split my thinking into two sides, the Killer Wolves and the opposing team. This skill I use till this day in business and school. I can think what others are thinking. This has allowed me to become very successful career wise. I would love to go on and on about how much I love Battletech but I think I should get to the point of this blog.
